Our students enjoyed watching the Movie the "Lorax" and wearing their P.J.'s for their PBIS reward on February25th. They were an excellent audience and even intently watched quietly while they finished the movie during their lunch hour last week.
The PTO sponsored Roller Skating Party on Thursday, February 28th was a huge hit! We had over 200 people skating from the Willow Creek Community. As a result of the "Split the Pot" raffle, one family even went home with $135 they had won! Our students had a blast skating together and enjoyed the music! They also had fun with the "Cha, Cha Slide" at the conclusion of the evening!
The playground committee also had their final meeting of the year and narrowed down the playground design options to two options for the student body to vote on in order to determine the final vote. The students voted and the design that was labeled Option B won by a landslide! Check out the picture below of our future playground! It will be installed this summer and should be ready for the start of next school year! Thank you to everyone who was a part of our playground committee!
This past week, our students began the Illinois Standardized Achievement Tests (ISAT's). Our students in grades 3rd-6th worked extremely hard to do their best, and the rest of the school did an excellent job to maintain a quiet testing environment for those who were taking the tests. We still have some students who will be testing this coming week, as there are grades that have more tests than others and we have some students who have make-up tests to take due to illness.
Our PTO meeting was cancelled last week due to the snow we received on Tuesday. As a result, we have rescheduled the meeting for this Tuesday, March 11th at 7 p.m. in the LRC. Please join us if you can!
Willow Creek School has had 10% of our parent population complete the 5Essentials Survey thus far. We need at least 30% of our parent population to complete this survey in order for the school to receive the results and use them in our School Improvement Planning for next year. As a result, please take a few minutes to complete the survey if you have not already in order for our school to receive parent input to go along with the staff and student input that we will receive. I have included a quick link that will take you directly to the survey, as well as, a link to the directions if you want to look at them before taking the survey.
Click on the links I included for issues of Building Readers for parents in both English and Spanish.
