On Tuesday, February 25th, Officer Bean shared a very informative presentation for parents in order to provide them with information as to how they can keep their children safe on Social Media sites. Both benefits and drawbacks of allowing students to be on Social Media and use electronic devices such as cell phones, iPads, iPods, and other handheld devices or gaming systems were addressed. He also provided recommendations for apps. that parents should avoid allowing their children to use, as well as, ones that if used, the students and parents can be supported and helped in solving issues or further preventing situations that may arise. I have copies of the handouts that were provided to parents at the session if anyone is interested! Thank you to our Willow Creek parents who did attend either of the informational sessions that were offered last month.

Thank you to all of our families who participated in the Box Top Collection last month! We did reach our goal of collecting $1500 from Box Tops!!
Our students in grades 3-6 participated in the ISAT Tests this past week. The majority of the testing was completed in the first week, however, we will still have testing going on throughout the entire week this week as well. This year, 100% of the test items are aligned with the Common Core Standards and our students worked really hard at tackling the more challenging questions they were presented with on the tests.
Assistant Superintendent Greg Wolcott visited Willow Creek on Tuesday evening prior to the PTO Meeting. He shared information about our Math Curriculum and answered parent questions in regards to math this year. Thank you to all of our parents who attended the meeting. All parents can access our Math Curriculum online by visiting the district website, clicking on "Resources" and then "Parents", and then clicking on "Online Curriculum Guide" at the top right hand side of the page. Once on that page, parents can choose math and the grade level they want to view.
All of the items in the Willow Creek Lost and Found were displayed on tables over the past two weeks for students to see the items and be able to claim them. We will leave the items out for one more week and then they will be donated. Please remind your child to look for things that you know they are missing. Each student has had the opportunity to look at the table this past week when their class was picked up from PE class.
