On Wednesday, intermediate students who qualified through preliminary rounds before winter break, participated in our Geography Bee! This year's winner was Nick Geringer! Nick will be studying to participate in the next level of Geography Bees!
We also had our WC Spelling Bee on Thursday afternoon! Students in grades 3-6 attended the assembly with thirty students from grades 4-6 participating in the bee. I was so proud of all of the students who participated! It took a lot of courage to get up in front of so many students and it was obvious that our students studied for the bee and have been working hard to study throughout the school year to learn spelling rules and patterns. We have many strong spellers who remained in the bee for multiple rounds! Ultimately, we have our top two spellers from the building bee who will be moving on to the Woodridge School District #68 Spelling Bee on February 12th! Kailey Ferguson was our WC Spelling Champion and she will be joined at the district spelling bee by Amber Moca!
District #68 and the Woodridge Police Department are joining together to offer a unique informational meeting for parents to learn about how to keep children safe in our ever-changing digital age. I have included information about this meeting below and a flyer has also been posted to our Peachjar. I encourage all parents to attend one of the sessions in order to learn more about online safety at school and what parents can do at home. The content of this meeting will be geared towards and adult audience, so it is recommended that children do not attend this meeting. Students will experience their own, age appropriate, presentation during DARE classes this year.
