This past week, Mayor Cunningham visited our second graders! On Monday, she came to Willow Creek to read to our students and talk to them about her job. The students have been studying communities and learning about the various jobs people hold within a community. As a result, they were able to connect what they have been learning with a person who plays an important role in the Woodridge community!
Many of our teachers attended professional develop meetings this week in addition to the School Improvement Day we had on Thursday. Some teachers attended a training to learn about strategies that work great for not only our students who are English as a Second Language Learners, but for all students! Other teachers attended a training entitled Thoughtful Classroom, which also provides excellent opportunities for teachers to learn about meeting the needs of all students in the classroom.
District #68 is in the process of updating our website. As a result, staff have begun moving content over to a new platform for our District's website that will most likely be launched between Thanksgiving and Winter Break. I will be sure to notify parents when the official change over has been made!
