As of Friday, 16% of the Willow Creek parent population has completed the online 5Essentials Survey. The deadline for the survey completion has been extended to this Friday, April 12th. As a result, there is still time for us to reach our goal of 30% participation. It is important for the future planning for our school that we reach the 30% mark. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey by clicking on the quick link.
Mrs. Bailey is in need of volunteers for our upcoming Field Day. The event is planned for the afternoon of Friday, May 10th, with a rain date scheduled for Friday, May 17th. An orange sign up sheet was sent home with students. If you are willing and able to help, please return the completed sign up to school as soon as possible.
Volunteers are also needed for our Book Fair on Thursday, April 25th. Sign up sheets went home with students, however, you can also sign up and find more information about the times that are available by visiting our new Willow Creek Scholastic Book Fair homepage. Orders can be placed online starting on April 19th and books can be previewed online as well. Check out our site at http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/wcpto.
Last Monday, District #68 hosted a parent information meeting to explain the identification process for students for the new Gifted Program. I have uploaded the presentation to my Principal's Page on the school website and included a link to the presentation for anyone who is interested in taking a look at the presentation. I have also included a link to the district web page that contains information about the new gifted program. Please feel to contact the new district gifted coordinator, Kelly Neylon, or me with any questions. Mrs. Basford our Literacy Enrichment Specialist my also be contacted with questions.
